The closer we get to our dreams the more watchful we must be…

,

The lighthouse shines to say to all those at sea…proceed with caution as you reach your destination.  You see its safer to be at sea than it is to get closer to your destination.  The closer you get to the shore, the more you have to work on how you steer your boat.  The closer you get the shallower the waters are.  The rocks that can damage your boat are closer than when you were out at sea.  The deep valleys and treacherous rocks that were so deep below are now closer to the surface.

The closer we get to our dreams, the closer we get to our destination the more precise and watchful the navigation needs to be.

We decide if we want to stay out at sea and admire our destination from afar and be “safe” or if we will navigate the waters, carefully, precisely as we move in closer.

Isaiah 43:2 a says: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you

God has promised to be with us through deep waters and rivers and that they will not overcome us. Why fear? Why fear the unknown if we have been promised to have protection and someone to help us through? Don’t sit there in the boat wishing and dreaming to get to the destination, move in faith. Yes it takes skill and determination but you can do this. Proceed with caution but proceed, move, gain more skill and when you reach your destination dream of a new one farther away and jump back in that boat!

Ps. If you find yourself just floating in the water staring at your intended destination out of fear of getting closer, out of fear of unknown sacrifices that must be made to get there, say this prayer with me today. Lord God almighty I come before you guide my hands and eyes, stear my ship. Lead me through the treaturous waters. Guide every move that I make, that I may take advantage of the weather around me to propel me forward and not keep me still or push me farther away. You are my lighthouse and the captain of my ship, with you I will make it to my destination, Amen.
