Ever wake up or go to bed Anxious?

Before the day has begun our mind has exhausted us. Before we conquer the day’s events we allow the cutting feeling of defeat ease its way in.  Before we have presented our day, our lives, our families and dreams to God we have let the unknown chase them in our minds and put them all in disarray.I had one of those days and right in the middle of my meltdown a word pops in my head “Be anxious for nothing” My thought? YEAH RIGHT!!!! How do you do that? By making our talks with God a priority.  Why is it important to present ourselves before God first thing in the morning and at the end of our day?

For me its when my mind takes on the world, before my feet hit the floor in the morning my mind has already gone through the whole day. When the house is finally quiet at night and my to do’s, not done, and how can I fix this lists roll around in my head. The second part of Philippians 4:6  gave me the answer: do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Presenting ourselves before God, in prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving {being grateful to be alive and breathing} in our heart for having another day to live, we make known everything.  Everything that is in our head, everything that is in our hearts, everything that ails our bodies. There is something about saying “Lord God on high, you know how I feel and what I’m thinking but let me tell you anyways” it allows us to acknowledge that we are not in this alone.  When we share our heart and feelings and thoughts with someone we do it because we believe they care and can or will do something to aide us.

When we share our prayers, the words of our heart, the thoughts of our mind with God we are saying “you know me, you love me and you will be here with me”.

Psalm 127:2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Whether your unrest comes in the morning hours or late at night I pray today you can conquer anxiety and find rest for your mind, heart and body.
