I have always loved lighthouses there is so much we can learn from them. Oh we all know they shine in the dark, but did you know that they are purposefully located in dangerous or very important places to help guide and warn sailors of treacherous waters. They say not a word but with their light shining advise “you are reaching your destination proceed with caution”. They don’t leave their post, they don’t run when the storms come. They can’t turn off when the storms hit just because they don’t feel like shining. When storms rage that is when they are most needed and most dependent upon. They stand there in the middle of it all getting hit on all sides but because they are on a firm foundation they can stand and weather the storm all the while helping others find their way and be careful not to enter into treacherous waters.
We can all go through moments that feel like a horrible storm and our natural human reaction is to stop and focus on us and stop shining so we can focus on going through the storm. To stop doing for others because what we feel or how we hurt or what we are living feels like a raging storm.
But if you are a lighthouse, a living lighthouse; you have been built to whether the toughest of storms. You have been built to shine even in the midst of the darkest storms.
You have been built not to go out and save people and take them out of the waters or chart their way for them or take control of their ship. NO, my dears you have been built to shine so others can see and find their way even in the darkest and stormiest of days. Should your light go out during the storm there is always a keeper of the lighthouse ready to work from within to do what is necessary to have you shine bright the way you were meant to shine. His sole job is to be sure that this beacon of light does not loose its power and ability to shine. Let the light of God shine through you, Be that lighthouse, Weather that storm, don’t stop shining and if your light goes out ask the keeper of the lighthouse to come and make it shine again.
Proverbs 10:25 says
When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.
Today I speak to you the words that can go beyond the raging seas and storms…SHINE BABY SHINE you were built to weather the storm!
Merita’s Heart ❤
Ps. If your light has gone out take a moment and say this prayer with me. Lord God almighty I come before you as the keeper of my lighthouse, reignite the light that shines from within. Give me strength to remember that I was built to weather the storm and I will survive. I will shine even through the darkest of nights for you are my maker and my keeper, Amen.
